What's new at the Southport Amateur Fishing Club?

Lifestyle Kids Fishing Day

Well our first attempt at running the Lifestyle Kids Fishing Day is behind us and everything went well thanks to our many helpers and the perfect weather we enjoyed after days we suffered previously to the run-up.

Many thanks to John and Pam Crone from the Queensland Amateur Fishing Club for coming from Ipswich with a truckload of equipment and knowledge and running a magnificent programme with our 21 kids who attended and 12 of their parents who stayed to take part.

Also to our club members who stepped up to assist including our Captain Wayne Davis, Wayne Richter, Cameron Richter, Jack Richter, John Ford, Alan Foote, Kelly Blount, Lesley Skipp, Garry Edwards, Elaine Gaven and David Gaven.

We were also honoured to have our Patron Dawn Crichlow with us to assist in the Presentation of Certificates and gifts to all our participating kids.

Free membership was offered to the kids participating with a senior member joining, and we have gained probably another 12 or so new member’s to our club. David circulated a comment page for parents feed-back, and the positive statements was most encouraging.
